Supervision provides a forum for reflection, accountability and learning from doing. Its aim is to further excellent work and quality practice. Supervisors support and challenge supervisees to move beyond their current competencies into future possibilities. Supervision is individualised (or personalised) learning in that it focuses on the work of the supervisee, the learning style of the supervisee and customises the relationship and environment to suit the development of the practitioner. Everyone wins. The ultimate benefit is for the client to receive the best possible service; the intermediary benefit is the growth and learning of supervisees, the immediate benefit is the ethical and professional monitoring of the work itself. I work with Counsellors and Psychologists for whom the majority of their workload involves the professional application of psychology in some form. The focus is on supervision, working from the two perspectives of the Supervisor and the Supervisee. Whether at advanced or introductory level, my supervision training is all about learning how to gain most out of the relationship. For individual psychologists, counsellors and professional helpers I offer a service called Professional Review in which I help you to take stock of where you are. |
