Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do your Courses carry accreditation points towards formal qualifications?
A. The short answer is ‘no’. However, there have been occasions when students have successfully applied to their course tutor to have the learning offset against some part of their course.

Recently we noticed that the Psychological Society of Ireland allowed 8 Continued Professional Development points for attending our two-day course ‘Becoming an Effective Supervisor’.

The British Psychological Society responded to our query about any similar situation in the UK (including the question "Do you accredit courses?", by saying that: “any activity can be acceptable as CPD if you can demonstrate that you have learned from the process and relate it to your practice. In this way (BPS) members will plan for their own individual needs rather that attending courses that have been laid out for them. We (the BPS) are not awarding points or recommending courses at this time”.

HOWEVER our partner PCI College, Dublin launched an Advanced Diploma in Supervision for coaches in November 2007 and these students are completing  this year or early in 2009. This Diploma is planned again for 2009/10 and details are found by following the Diploma link on our Home Page.  The course is validated by Middlesex University and a number of UK students who've been on Michael's courses are enrolled. Michael is the Course Director.
